Login and Registration Issues
> Why do I need to register?
The whole community section can be viewed without registering, however you will need to register if you want to post a comment or start a discussion. Registration is really quick, and you only need to do it once to start becoming a part of the Geenee community.
> I’m a Geenee member. Can I use my existing login details?
Yes. You are already fully registered. You can start adding your comments straight away. Your login details will be the same as the ones you chose for the rest of Geenee. So start sharing your local favourites or asking for trip advice immediately.
> Why can't I log in?
Have you registered? You need to register first in order to login. After completion you will receive an e-mail allowing you to activate your account.
> I registered but cannot log in!
If you have checked that your username and password are correct, than you may not have activated your registration. An e-mail is sent to you after completing registration. You will need to follow the instructions of this e-mail to activate your registration. If you are still having problems, and you are sure the email address you used is valid, then e-mail us at community@geenee.com.
> Why do I get logged off automatically?
If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you log in, we will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the community from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university cluster, etc.
> I've lost my password!
Don't panic! Go to the login page and click I've forgotten my password. Your password will be e-mailed to you.
> I registered in the past but cannot log in anymore!
The most likely reason for this is that you entered an incorrect username or password (check the email you were sent when you first registered). It is also possible that the administrator has deleted your account. Perhaps you did not post anything? The administrator will periodically remove users who have not posted anything so as to reduce the size of the database. Try registering again and get involved in discussions.
User Preferences and settings
> How do I change my settings?
All your settings (if you are registered) are stored. To alter them click the settings link shown at the top of each page. This will allow you to change all your settings.
> The time is not correct!
The community section uses a universal clock set to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This means that the clock shows one time only - the time in London. Having members all around the world we had to chose somewhere and this seemed as good a place as any.
Posting Issues
> How do I post a topic in a forum?
Easy -- click the relevant button on either the forum or topic screens. You will need to login before you can post a message.
> How do I edit or delete a post?
Once you have submitted your comment or topic you cannot delete it.
> Will I be notified if you change or remove a message of mine?
We reserve the right to remove any post, topic or forum on the Geenee community for any reason, and you will not be notified if your message is removed or modified.
> If I have an objection to a post, will you remove it?
The Geenee community is an open, unmoderated forum for discussion. All posts on Forums are entirely the responsibility of the user who posted them. If you find a problem with a post, feel free to report it using the Report link. We will check into it, but changes to Geenee community forums are made solely at the discretion of the Forums administrators, and you will not be notified of our decisions.
> I still have a question. How do I get help?
Please send an e-mail to community@geenee.com
