Myrtle house in Axbridge is a 500 year old house in a medieval street close (500 yards) to the village square. It has central heating, 4 bedrooms - master ensuite (2 large bedrooms with kingsize beds, 1 single with loftbed and futon, 1 with double sofabed), family bathroom.

The house has a lounge (tv/dvd/log burner), study (hifi / applemac / tv), dining room (listed fresco on ceiling), a breakfast room (glass roof), kitchen (all amenities) and utility room (washer/dryer). There is a large garden with fruit trees and a lawned area with a large trampoline for the kids, a barbecue and plenty of hardwood seating and dining table. Our neighbours are very friendly and there is a fantastic community spirit in the village.

Our Neighbourhood

Our home is in rural Somerset but close to Bristol (20 miles, airport only 15 miles). Cheddar Gorge is 1.5 miles and Weston-Super-Mare and the beach is 12 miles away. See - www.axbridge-tc.gov.uk/
There is a large reservoir between Axbridge and Cheddar for easy walking / jogging and more strenuous walking in the Mendip Hills above the village.

More about the neighbourhood

Cheddar Gorge offers tourist activities and caving/climbing. Wells is 10 miles away and has a beautiful cathedral and a vibrant street market and ancient Glastonbury is only 20 miles south, the tor is visible from Axbridge across the Somerset Levels.

About Us

We are both lecturers, I teach photography and my wife art. We have two kids, Lily who is 17 and Jack 14. Both attend school locally and we all really enjoy living in Axbridge. We know all of our neighbours and the street is the friendliest place imaginable for adults and kids alike.
