2-bedroom Apartment
Our Home
Bright and airy 2 bedroom security-gated apartment located in a safe and trendy neighborhood. Our home is filled with art, books, and vintage pieces and is furnished with high-end and mid-century modern vintage furniture. We have newly installed hardwood floors and carpet in the bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a new memory foam bed and the second bedroom has a Crate and Barrel pull out sofa and two desks.
Our apartment is located within a 24 unit complex. We are friends with many of our neighbors and we all feel safe to walk out at night.
We recently had professional photos taken of our home and will post them in mid-March.
Our Neighbourhood
Pasadena is known as the "crown city" of Los Angeles and is a major hub for art, culture, shopping, and nature. It is a 15 minute drive to Downtown LA, also easily accessible by subway. Our home is located in the trendy Playhouse District and is a pedestrian's dream.
We are right between three major shopping and entertainment centers: Old Town, Paseo, and South Lake. There's high-end (Tiffany's, Kate Spade, Coach), popular (Anthropologie, Macy's, Urban Outfitters, Banana, JCrew) and smaller indie stores. You can pretty much name a popular store or restaurant and you can probably walk there. There are also tons of independently-operated places, which add to the city's artsy character.
We are just off of Colorado Blvd., the street famous for hosting the New Year's Rose Parade. We are across the street from an arthouse movie theater, Vroman's (the largest and oldest independent bookstore in Southern California), Target, and more. You can walk to grocery stores like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.
Some of LA's top museums are also within a stone's throw away, including the Norton Simon Museum, The Huntington, Pacific Asia Museum, and more. Families also enjoy Kidspace Museum. During the summer and spring, there are many outdoor free art and music festivals like the Artwalk, Artnight, Chalk Walk, Make Music, free concerts at Levitt Pavilion, and more. There are architecture, art, and food walking tours throughout the neighborhood.
Pasadena is at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, which has many gorgeous hiking trails and waterfalls. If you prefer to excercise indoors, we are within a few blocks of 24 Hour Fitness, Bally's, LA Fitness, and yoga studios.
You can easily spend all of your time in Pasadena but we're also a 5-10 minute walk to the Lake/Colorado subway stop, which is your portal to anywhere else in Los Angeles. We can also negotiate for you to use our car, if it's available. As is well known here, everything in LA is within a 15-30 minute drive away.
We recently moved to Pasadena from West LA (Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, etc.) and having lived in both, we can confidently say that we much prefer Pasadena and think that it is a better base for tourists seeking to explore the city. LA can be quite overwhelming, especially since most neighborhoods require a car to get to anywhere interesting unless it is at your doorstep. Our neighborhood is conducive to exploring on foot and is one of the few safe communities within walking distance to the subway (goldline).
There are also multiple day-trips you can take, such as San Diego, Orange County, Santa Barbara, and nearby mountains.
We look forward to your stay!
