In a lively and animated neighbourhood, 78 steps, worn by Breton and Eluard, lead to my studio, which has large glass windows overlooking Place Blanche at the foot of Montmartre. 140 m² in all, with 2 bedrooms (with 140 cm and 2x90 cm beds) a shower room, and a toilet making up the 40 m² private area which faces the courtyard.
The 100 m² studio is open-plan in concept, that is, it is easily split into separate areas for photographic equipment, a sofa bed for 2 people, a sink (with washing machine/clothes dryer), television, and trestle tables which can be put up as and when needed. There is also a mezzanine which contains a fully equipped, comfortable American kitchen, and a computer lab with Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Music system, telephone with unlimited calls (within Europe, USA, and Canada). Parking space in safe car park nearby, and car available subject to agreement. Cleaning lady two afternoons a week. And then there is a cat called Tag, who is as black as the cafe across the road, once frequented by La Goulue and Toulouse Lautrec - unless I decide to take it with me.
Our Neighbourhood
With its numerous theatres and cultural venues, this artists' quarter is situated in the very heart of Paris, just 10 minutes' walk from the big department stores and Gare Saint-Lazare station and Gare du Nord, and within easy access of other parts of the capital.
About Us
I live alone with my two girls in this magical place where I have the chance to exercise my profession as a photographer. I now need the ocean and firewood. The Christmas holidays might well lend themselves to that.
Otherwise I am open to any proposals for change of scenery in France or elsewhere which will fit within the school calendar for 2009 in zone C.
