Studio Apartment In The Centre Of Belgrade
Our Home
Studio apartment, 29 m², right in the centre of Belgrade, just two hundred metres from the Square of the Republic.
Very peaceful and quiet.
Perfect for a couple.
Living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a small terrace.
Air conditioning, fast internet, cable TV, washing machine, double bed, lots of books and plants etc.
The only problem is the small and rather unusual bathroom.
Our Neighbourhood
The apartment is located in Kosovska Street, in the Old City.
This neighbourhood is very lively, but yet peaceful, as it is hidden away in the centre of the city.
Right across the street from the entrance of the building there is a cinema, "Kinoteka", with one of the biggest film archives in Europe.
Down the street there is a very good café named "Drinka" This name is a pun, since it is based on the Serbian borrowing of the English verb "drink", but at the same time this is also the name of the oldest elementary school in Belgrade, "Drinka Pavlovic", which is located just fifty metres from the café
Beside Drinka, there are also five other small, quiet and pleasant cafés in the same street.
There are also two local shops selling food and drink, which are open around the clock, as well as an open market just three streets away.
Three hundred metres from the apartment there is the great night club "Secer", which was the first night club in the old Yugoslavia. It had been closed for thirty years, but was re-opened last year. Here you can listen to disco sounds and other contemporary music.
Within a radius of three hundred metres from the apartment you can also find "Dom Omladine" a cultural centre in Belgrade dedicated primarily to the younger generation, with good concerts and other musical events, as well as the National Theatre and the "Atelje 212" theatre, the "O3ON" contemporary art gallery, etc.
The National Parliament building is also located in Kosovska Street, and it is surrounded by a park with a children's playground.
Opposite the National Parliament is the presidential palace and the Council of the City of Belgrade. All this makes Kosovska Street a very special place, with a charming atmosphere.
About Us
Hello, dear friends! We are Nevan and Ilija, and we are a couple.
We will give you a short, bureaucratic description of ourselves:
Person number one, Ilija Petornijevic:
I'm a coordinator in an Italian association, and I'm working like a beast!
Our main focus just now is a program of community cooperation between Italy and Serbia.
Until last year, I was a student of philosophy, and editor of a philosophical journal. My general interests in philosophy range from German classical philosophy to contemporary French philosophy and psychoanalysis.
Person number two, Nevena Negojevic:
I am a 25-year-old student in the Department of Archaeology, in the Faculty of Philosophy in the University of Belgrade.
Right now I'm writing my graduate thesis, and next year I'm planning to enrol to do a Master's degree in Cultural Management.
My personal interests are the problems involved in presenting our archaeological heritage to a wider audience, and the frequent misuse of archaeology to justify different political ideologies.
Let's now do a pathetic finish, complete with background elevator music:
We like to travel a lot, and we are decent people! :-)
See you!
