3. Agree an exchange

Once you've found a potential swapper, your email addresses are automatically exchanged so you can correspond directly. It's worth phoning too - it's often quicker, and it's a good way to get to know each other. You're bound to have lots of questions for each other, and lots of advice about how to get the most out of your homes and locations.

It's also important to make sure you're both clear about the details of the arrangement. For example, do you want them to water your plants? Are they happy for you to use their car? How will you divvy up the phone bills?

We recommend putting all this stuff in an Exchange Agreement beforehand. And we've made that simple, by providing a sample agreement on your 'My Geenee' page. This has all the basics in place, so all you have to do is bounce it back and forth a few times until you're both happy with the details. Simple.
