Why Geenee?

Other home-swapping sites are essentially notice boards. You pay for the privilege of having your home listed. Some are better than others, but we think Geenee’s in another league.

The world’s coolest cities

Why? Well, firstly we’ve focused on the planet’s top cities – the ones we all want to live in. With homes in such desirable places, there’s a much better chance of matching up.

Rated homes

Second, we offer to visit every home in our featured cities. That’s right, if you see a star rating, we’ve been there. And we’ve rated each one from one to five stars, like a hotel. (Each level has specific criteria.) We’ve also rated specific aspects of each home: internal, location, tranquillity and outdoors.

That gives you a pretty good picture, but nothing beats a real one. So we provide up to ten photographs of every home, and 360º views of as many as possible. We want you to know exactly what you’re getting.

We also ask all our members to rate each other after a holiday. So you can see immediately who makes a good swapper. (Any bad ones won’t last long.)

Exclusive local deals

We’ve negotiated special deals with selected companies in our featured cities. Nobody else does this, but we think it’s important: we want you to be able to share the particular passions of the place – whether it’s theatre, surfing, skiing or whatever. It’s part of living like a true local. (It’s also reassuring to know we’ve already checked out the suppliers.)

Making swapping easy

We know you’re busy. So we make swapping as simple (and secure) as possible. For example, we give you your own 'My Geenee' section, which lets you exchange information with other swappers without exchanging your private contact details (until you're ready). We also provide as much help and advice as we can, from sample agreement templates to advice on preparing your home.
