Our Home
Secluded retreat in the heart of Los Angeles. We are in a great post and beam home which has three bedrooms, all with queen or king beds; 2 baths; large open plan living and dining rooms, with natural light throughout from windows and skylights. Great yard and garden with views.
There is comfortable contemporary furniture, a sectional sofa and rocking chairs,
flat screen TVs, video game system, music system. The dining room seats 10-12 comfortably. There is also an outdoor bbq, seating areas and outdoor dining tables. All of these amenities will make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Washer and dryer in home. Gardener and cleaning lady can be included. Car exchange possible.
Our Neighbourhood
Our home is ideally situated in a residential neighborhood in the foothills just north of downtown Los Angeles. We are adjacent to a two hundred acre plus nature reserve that is ideal for walks. The Audobon Nature Conservancy Center has trails for running or hiking, bicycling and extensive bird watching.
A park with tennis courts and play structures for children is down the hill.
Downtown, which is 5 minutes away, has world class museums and galleries, Frank Gehry designed Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center and Nokia Theater for music and sports, restaurants, Dodger Stadium for baseball, are all possibilities and nearby. The wonderful Los Angeles Zoo, Gene Autry Museum of Western (Cowboy) Heritage and the Griffith Observatory are all housed within Griffith Park, which is a short 5 minute drive away. Pasadena (museums, Caltech, Rose Bowl) is 10 minutes away.
Nearby you will find:
Hollywood, Universal Studios, and the movie studios; The beaches of Santa Monica and Malibu are 15-20 minutes away; Shopping in Beverly Hills and Brentwood is 20 minutes away; Disneyland and California Adventure are 35-45 minutes away.
After your day is over, you can rest assured that you are coming home to sit in the garden and have a beer or a glass of wine, listen to music, cook a great meal and enjoy it all outside as the sun sets.
About Us
We are Francisco and Kathy. We are both in our mid thirties. Our daughter Mireya (age 11) and son Elias (age 9) are wonderful, curious children that have a taste for adventure and wish to travel to France and Spain in summer 2009 to experience and have a great time.
We are looking to exchange for one week minimum in either Paris, Nice, Marseille or Barcelona. We will arrive in Paris on or about July 25, 2009 and depart from Barcelona on or about August 15, 2009. We are open to exchanges in other areas in France or Spain.
We will treat your home with the love and care that we have for our own home.
