Our Home
We have a great family house in Manhattan Beach, California, a beautiful beach town conveniently located within 10 minutes of Los Angeles International Airport, and centrally located, with a two-hour drive to San Diego to the south or Santa Barbara to the north.
The house is situated in a tree-lined street in a friendly neighbourhood, one mile from the beach and the downtown area of Manhattan Beach. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and the home can comfortably sleep 6, and we also have a portable crib/pack-and-play for a baby/toddler that can be set up in one of the children's rooms. (Room configurations: two twin beds in the girls room, a twin bed with trundle in our son's room, and a king size bed in the master bedroom.)
There is a nice backyard, with plenty of outdoor seating and a barbecue. In addition, the exchange will possibly include access to both of our cars, including a minivan that seats 7.
Other amenities: Internet access and computer, beach chairs and accessories, a local school/park within walking distance, a local pool within walking distance, a convenient location in relation to major freeways to get around Los Angeles, among many other advantages.
Our Neighbourhood
We live in a family-friendly neighbourhood, just one mile from the beach, with plenty of parks nearby. Conveniently located in relation to major streets and freeways for sightseeing around Los Angeles.
About Us
We have a family of 5, and our children's ages in August 2009 will be 7, 4 and 3, two girls and a little boy. I am a stay-at-home mother for our three children. I grew up on the east coast, outside Princeton, New Jersey, and graduated from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.
I moved to California in 1995, met my husband the following year, and the rest is history. My husband, Ryan, was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, and his parents, brother, sister-in-law and nephew still live here, just down the street from us, so they could be great resources for a family visiting from France. Ryan owns and runs his own company here in the South Bay called havoc TV: it is a video-on-demand, action sports and music video channel on cable TV, www.havoctv.com. Havoc also has a nightly show on DIRECTV.
