Foz da Ria is a beautiful apartment complex in western Algarve, situated close to the beach and Palmares golf course, yet only fifteen minutes from the historic town of Lagos.

From its elevated position, the apartment has a commanding view over the Ria de Alvor estuary and out to sea, and it's popular with families, couples, singles and golfers.

The apartment has been furnished in an appealing, contemporary style, with guests' enjoyment, relaxation and comfort in mind.

You will find an LCD TV with satellite channels, including BBC, ITV and Sky News, air conditioning to keep you cool, a DVD player with the latest films, an MP3 player, a dishwasher, a microwave, and even a library with a selection of books to read by the pool.

After a hard day sunbathing on the nearby Meia Praia beach, you can dine al-fresco on the spacious balcony with a glass of wine, watching the sun go down over the estuary.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings, you will not be disappointed!


Our Neighbourhood

The Western Algarve is less developed than some other areas, and near the apartment are some fantastic sandy beaches, and areas for walking or cycling.

The historic town of Lagos is about fifteen minutes away, with its beautiful harbour, marina, castle, churches, and excellent shopping facilities.

There are plenty of things to do: sightseeing, swimming, wind surfing, horse riding, golf, tennis, fishing, water parks, go-karting, football - and even dolphin watching!

The climate is very favourable, with temperatures reaching 32 degrees in the main summer months, but with cooler temperatures throughout the rest of the year.

Being near the coast, there is often a pleasant breeze to keep you cool, but you can usually be guaranteed plenty of sunshine, lying by the pool or on the beach.


About Us

We've owned this apartment since it was built, and we love going to Foz da Ria for weekend breaks and family holidays.

Our favourite pastime is sitting out on the balcony with a nice meal and a bottle of wine, looking out to the sea, and watching the sun go down.

More about us

The children play in the pool and usually meet other children and families, particularly during the school holidays.

The nearby Meia Praia beach is fantastic: it's the longest beach in the Algarve, and the sand stretches for nine miles. It's completely unspoilt, and perfect for sunbathing and water sports.

We usually go down to Linda's Bar for lunch, or to Cacto, one of our favourite local restaurants.

Lagos is a lovely town - great for shopping, sightseeing, or just chilling out, watching the boats down at the marina.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location:

We bought the apartment because we both love Portugal, particularly the Algarve region.

The climate is good, and it takes only two hours to fly there from the UK, and Western Algarve is less developed than other parts of Portugal and Spain.

The apartment has the best of both worlds - it's quiet and peaceful, yet close to all the amenities in Lagos.

The motorway is never busy, so you can travel all along the Algarve very easily, and connect with other towns such as Sagres, Vilamoura, Albufeira and Faro. And it's only two hours from the Spanish border.

Unique benefits of the property:

The beauty of Foz da Ria is the spectacular views out to sea, and the exclusive use of the pool, tennis court, gym, jacuzzi and sauna.

It's very well maintained, and having a receptionist on hand to receive guests and deal with any enquiries or problems is wonderful for guests, particularly if they are new to the area.

We like being close to the beach and the town of Lagos, and enjoying the local pastimes, like sailing, golf, wind surfing, motor racing - and even dolphin watching!
