Studio Apartment In New York City's Chinatown
Cosy Chinatown studio in courtyard building next to historic park.
Perfectly located, two blocks from Canal Street, at the intersection of Little Hong Kong, Civic Center, and Tribeca.
Nicely renovated with exposed brick, amazing light, and lots of house-plants.
Fully equipped kitchen (with a gas range with a wok burner, and a dishwasher).
Bedroom with double bed.
We're in the heart of the historic "Five Points" neighbourhood (where the movie "Gangs of New York" takes place).
The neighbourhood is very safe today (there is a police headquarters at the end of our block) and is still very vibrant.
The park across the street is filled with people playing traditional Chinese games and music.
There are amazing restaurants, galleries and cool bars.
It's a very easy to walk to FiDi, SoHo, Lower East Side and the Villages, and about thirty minutes' walk across the bridge to Dumbo.
It's a perfect location to see New York.
We're a couple of blocks away from the Canal Street subway stop (Q, N, R, J, Z, and 6 trains), and just a short walk to the F train at East Broadway, or the 4/5 train at Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall.
The Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge are also a short walk away.
I often walk over the bridges on my way home from work because I work in Downtown Brooklyn.
There's a Citi Bike station just outside the apartment.
My boyfriend and I are in our late twenties / early thirties, and we are both architects.
We are low-key people, and very tidy.
We've both worked in China for a bit, so Chinatown has been a great landing place in New York City.
I grew up in New Jersey, and a lot of my family live in Brooklyn.
I've lived in New York City for over four years now, but still feel that there is so much more to discover.
We love exploring new cities, and we are looking for a similar apartment in an cool city that we can explore for a week of two.
We are open to London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, etc - but smaller cities are good too!
Right now we are looking for one to two weeks in August or September, but we will also be looking for somewhere warm during the winter months. We're flexible for the right swap!
